Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. I use Stacking the Shelves to feature the books I’ve recently added to my TBR shelf on Goodreads.
I had a really busy return to work at my job as a librarian. I held multiple events, book clubs, and was on an interview panel. Today I’ll have 2 more events before I can finally enjoy the weekend. I just finished Crazy Rich Asians and hope to star the second book ASAP!
Here’s what I added to my TBR shelf recently:
The Marriage Clock by Zara Raheem
“To Leila Abid’s traditional Indian parents, finding a husband in their South Asian-Muslim American community is as easy as match, meet, marry. But for Leila, a marriage of arrangement clashes with her lifelong dreams of a Bollywood romance which has her convinced that real love happens before marriage, not the other way around.
Finding the right husband was always part of her life-plan, but after 26 years of singledom, even Leila is starting to get nervous. And to make matters worse, her parents are panicking, the neighbors are talking, and she’s wondering, are her expectations just too high? So Leila decides it’s time to stop dreaming and start dating.
She makes a deal with her parents: they’ll give her three months, until their 30th wedding anniversary, to find a husband on her own terms. But if she fails, they’ll take over and arrange her marriage for her.
With the stakes set, Leila succumbs to the impossible mission of satisfying her parents’ expectations, while also fulfilling her own western ideals of love. But after a series of speed dates, blind dates, online dates and even ambush dates, the sparks just don’t fly! And now, with the marriage clock ticking, and her 3-month deadline looming in the horizon, Leila must face the consequences of what might happen if she doesn’t find “the one…” -Goodreads synopsis
I can’t wait to add another yellow cover to my shelves! I also love romances that center around some type of deadline looming so I know I’ll be reading this one ASAP!

The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai
“Rhiannon Hunter may have revolutionized romance in the digital world, but in real life she only swipes right on her career—and the occasional hookup. The cynical dating app creator controls her love life with a few key rules:
– Nude pics are by invitation only
– If someone stands you up, block them with extreme prejudice
– Protect your heart
Only there aren’t any rules to govern her attraction to her newest match, former pro-football player Samson Lima. The sexy and seemingly sweet hunk woos her one magical night… and disappears.
Rhi thought she’d buried her hurt over Samson ghosting her, until he suddenly surfaces months later, still big, still beautiful—and in league with a business rival. He says he won’t fumble their second chance, but she’s wary. A temporary physical partnership is one thing, but a merger of hearts? Surely that’s too high a risk…” -Goodreads synopsis
I loved Alisha Rai’s Forbidden Hearts series and this book is the beginning of a new series! Athlete romances are some of my favorite even though I’m not even a tiny bit athletic.

Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey
“Can a romcom-obssessed romantic finally experience the meet-cute she always dreamed of or will reality never compare to fiction, in this charming debut adult novel from Kerry Winfrey.
Annie is twenty-seven years old, single, and obsessed with romantic comedies (she and her mother watched them religiously, before her mom died). Her dating life is limited by the expectations she’s formed from these movies. She is not as open to new experiences as she might be, because she’s waiting for her Tom Hanks–i.e., a guy she’ll find in the perfect, meet-cute romantic comedy way. When Annie does finally meet her perfect match, it’s not quite in the way she expected, and she’s forced to reckon with the walls she’s built around herself over the years.” -Goodreads synopsis
This is not a title that’s brand new to my TBR but I wanted to make sure it’s on everyone’s radar. Kerry is one of my favorite YA authors and I’m over the moon that she’s written a romance novel! Luckily I became a romance reader last year and now I have this book to eagerly await
